Rizwan Ahmad, the doctor who treated Jason David Frank on behalf of the hospital where he was admitted, spoke out Thursday in a statement released to People magazine.
“We are saddened by what has happened,” Ahmad said. “I want to assure everyone that we are doing everything possible to ensure his full recovery.”
The actor’s publicist also released a statement saying: “Jason is recovering well and resting at home under close supervision.”

Jason David Frank died Friday at the age of 44 after battling cancer. The actor passed away at his home in Los Angeles County after being hospitalized earlier this week due to complications from Stage 4 colon cancer he was diagnosed within 2017.
The actor had previously shared that he’d been diagnosed with the terminal liver disease before undergoing surgery on April 26th, 2018 which resulted in him being released from the hospital two weeks later without any knowledge about how well his body would heal before returning again for another surgery on June 17th, 2018 where doctors found tumors throughout both lungs which resulted in further complications for him leading up.
Until now when his condition worsened enough for them to put him back into hospice care over concerns about the infection spreading throughout his body due to ventilation problems caused by having two tubes inserted into one lung cavity (which also resulted from previous surgeries).
